Ina Hagen (b.1989, NO) is an artist and writer based in Oslo, and works across performance and communal making practices. Alongside her studio practice, Hagen is Acting Chair of the young artist’s membership organisation, union, and contemporary art institution UKS (Young Artist’s Society), and writes for the nordic art journal Kunstkritikk.
In constructing performative situations and platforms for social thinking, Hagen merges situated histories, collaborative and participatory acts in situations of collective, critical reflection. She is co-founder with Daisuke Kosugi of the discursive platform and exhibition venue Louise Dany, which they run from their flat and adjacent store-front in Oslo.
Her work has been included in the 10th Nordic Biennale, Momentum NO; The Defying Parrot, Index, Stockholm SE; Coast Contemporary, NO; INCA, Seattle US; The Spring Exhibition, Kunsthall Charlottenborg, Copenhagen DK; Podium, Oslo NO; among others. Hagen has been awarded research residencies at IASPIS– Konstnärsnämnden in Stockholm, SE (2019-20); Capacete, Rio de Janeiro, BR (2018); Praksis, Oslo NO (2017); BAR Project, Barcelona ES (2017); Kunstnernes Hus, Oslo NO (2014-15); and Quartier 21, Museums Quartier, Vienna AU (2014). Her work is in the collection of the National Museum of Norway as part of Collection of Allocated Objects, performed at Tidens Krav, Oslo NO.
